Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kasese (Base Camp)
Drive to Kasese, the gateway to the Rwenzori Mountains. Overnight at a lodge near the park.

Day 2: Start Trek – Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Hut (2,652m)
Hiking duration: 6-7 hours. Trek through dense tropical rainforest.

Day 3: Nyabitaba to John Matte Hut (3,414m)
Cross the Bujuku River, trek through bamboo forests, and reach John Matte Hut.

Day 4: John Matte to Bujuku Hut (3,962m)
Enjoy views of Mount Baker and Stanley; trek through alpine bogs.

Day 5: Bujuku to Elena Hut (4,541m)
Climb the steep slopes to Elena Hut, your high-altitude base for the summit

Day 6: Summit Margherita Peak (5,109m) & Descend to Kitandara Hut
Early morning ascent to the peak of Margherita Peak. Descend via glaciers and rock slopes

Day 7: Descend to Nyakalengija and Transfer to Kampala
Complete the trek descending through the previously covered paths. Transfer back to Kampala
