Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kampala

Wake up early for breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. Explore the savannah in search of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and other wildlife. Leopards are present but elusive, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Your guide will help you search for animals and explain their behavior, habitats, and role in the ecosystem. The early hours offer a wonderful opportunity to observe wildlife when many animals are active.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls. Watch for hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants along the riverbanks, and colorful waterbirds. The cruise offers excellent scenery and photographic opportunities.

After breakfast, visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge before plunging into the river below. Enjoy the dramatic views, powerful sound of the water, and surrounding scenery.

After the visit, begin your journey toward the Kibale Forest region in western Uganda. The drive passes through changing landscapes, local communities, farmland, and scenic countryside.

Arrive at your accommodation near Kibale Forest National Park, home to one of Africa’s most important chimpanzee habitats. Relax at the lodge and prepare for your upcoming primate-tracking experience.

Enter the forest with your ranger and follow the trails in search of wild chimpanzees.
