After an early breakfast, proceed to the designated park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides. You will then enter the forest in a group to search for a habituated mountain gorilla family.
The trek may take several hours depending on the gorillas’ location and the terrain. Once the gorillas are located, visitors are generally allowed one hour with them under the applicable park rules. Observe their behaviour, family interactions, feeding, and movement while maintaining the required distance and following your guide’s instructions.
A porter can be hired to help carry your bag and provide support on the trail. Trekking conditions vary, so sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, a rain jacket, drinking water, and a reasonable level of fitness are recommended.
This remarkable encounter makes the 10 Days Uganda Big Five and Primates Expedition a truly special African wildlife holiday.
Accommodation: Lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Important: Gorilla trekking permits are subject to availability and should be secured in advance. The trekking sector will be confirmed according to permit availability and the final itinerary.
After breakfast, leave Bwindi and travel to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most beautiful highland lakes, surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with numerous islands.
Enjoy a relaxed afternoon with optional activities such as a canoe excursion, birdwatching, a guided community visit, or simply relaxing at your lakeside lodge.
This is an opportunity to unwind after the demanding gorilla trek while enjoying Uganda’s scenic landscapes and local hospitality.
Lake Bunyonyi adds a peaceful and memorable conclusion to the wildlife and primate experiences of your 10 Days Uganda Big Five and Primates Expedition.
Accommodation: Lodge near Lake Bunyonyi.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
