Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, report to the designated park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Join a guided trek through Bwindi’s dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek may involve steep slopes, muddy trails, and several hours of walking, depending on the gorillas’ location. Once the gorillas are found, you will normally spend up to one hour observing them, following the park authorities’ rules and instructions.

Watch the gorillas feed, groom, rest, and interact in their natural habitat. This remarkable encounter supports conservation and responsible tourism.

Porters can usually be hired locally to assist with your belongings and make the trek more manageable.
